I’m not getting nearly enough hours at work. The department itself is trying to cut back, and those at the bottom of the totem pole are hit the hardest. I was talking with the night-shift manager about the switch in the break room, and he told me that people only enjoy their jobs here once they leave customer service. To be honest, it’s been true for me. The ‘front end’ is primarily made up of kids waiting to leave high school, and college students looking seasonal work. While I’m still a college student looking for work, the other associates I work with have very rich personalities. The atmosphere is really different.
I saw ‘Inception’ with a friend a few days ago. I didn’t find it to be as great as everybody is making it to be, but I appreciated the story. There are references to Greek mythology in terms of character names, but the strength of the movie really lies with the plot. Once you see the first 30 minutes, you start to figure things out pretty fast. However, it unfolds beautifully.
After a short, unnecessary lack of productivity, I’m getting back into the flow of writing and submitting. I want to develop some degree of a writing habit, but when I plan on writing in the morning, I do so closer to midnight. When I assign some writing time at night, I end up squeezing it in before work.
